2014 Vespoli Performer 8+ #2

from Vespoli website:
The Performer is the “work horse” for many programs because of its incredible durability, moderate weight and great pricing. This is the model used in novice training and learn to row programs. It is the model that schools such as Michigan, Princeton and Wisconsin use in the fall and winter with their varsity teams allowing them to keep the race boats safely on the racks until racing season.

The Performer is constructed of multiple layers of high impact fiberglass with honeycomb gunwales, carbon flange, carbon channel ribs, and is cured at 250 degrees. This “single skin” construction deflects upon impact drastically reducing damage.

2015 Vespoli 4+ Rebuild

Believe it or not, rowing shells do not fly.
Nor do they do well bouncing down the freeway.

This boat tried to do both.
This is what showed up at our shop:

No worries. It took us some time, a little honeycomb, a bit of carbon, clamps, clamps, and more clamps got us headed back the right way!

Primer, paint, and a quick cleaning and now this 2015 Vespoli 4+ is back in one piece, ready to get on the water and win some races!

Vespoli 4+ Refurb and Repaint

When we got started with this boat, it was NOT red with a blue stripe!

This boat was in pretty good overall shape, it just wasn’t the colors of the program.

We gave the 4+ a full make over, fixed a couple minor ding’s and gave it a fresh look!

Bringing old Vespoli 4+’s back to life!

Sometimes when we get a boat, our guys try to run and hide.  This is a perfect example.  These are two full external refurbs.  Milwaukee Rowing Club sent us two 4+s that were in – well – lets just say, they were well used.

Many hours of work later, we repaired, patched, touched up all the dings, nicks, scratches, as well as re-built finboxes, and a few other miscellaneous repairs.

Probably the most rewarding part of the project is the paint job.  Many programs row boats that are “close” to their club colors, but not really.  You can see in the “during” pictures, that the hulls were a royal blue.  Milwaukee’s club colors are actually a darker blue.  Being able to deliver boats back to them that are their actual club colors is a lot of fun!

Vespoli 8+ [Repaint]

There is nothing prettier than a freshly painted boat in a paint booth. Seriously. We believe that.

This boat came to us from a team in the north. They requested a new paint job of their school colors. Just take a look. We will let the shine do all the talking!
